Books

You can come early before class one day and take a look at the books we have here in the school. There is probably more than one that grabs your attention and this will be the one you need.

We don’t sell or lend them. The books are here for everybody.

Mandiram' Barcelona's extensive library of Yoga Literature

There are some we especially recommend:

  • Ashtanga Yoga by John Scott – Gaia Ediciones “For a better understanding of the most technical aspects of Ashtanga y Vinyasa.”
  • Yoga Mind, Body and Spirit by Donna Farhi – Owl Books, NY “It is not translated into Spanish yet, but we recommend it because it explains the most subtle aspects of the practice very well.”
  • Yoga de Georg Feuerstein - Oniro “We really like Georg Feuerstein. He knows how to explain Yoga philosophy in Western language. Search for his books also in English, as not all of them are translated into Spanish.”
  • The Wisdom of No Escape by Pema Chöndrön - Oniro “An easy book that transmits Buddhist philosophy and teaches you how to incorporate your practice into your daily life.”
  • Travelling to India? Take a look at this book: From Here to Nirvana by Anne Cushman and Jerry Jones. India is many Indias! This book describes the most renowned places and also those that are not so well known, with a good description of each and with a very practical approach.

Music

  • Door of Faith by Krishna Das
  • Sacred Chants of Shiva by Craig Pruess
